Humans are relational creatures by nature. Humanity and history has been shaped through relationships -- sometimes business, sometimes personal, and often, both. But it is one of the core dimensions of our lives, whether we consciously pay attention to them or not.
But the rollercoasters, hamster-wheeling, whiplash, and drama that sometimes ensues can make it seem more trouble than its worth. And I get that. Repeated heartbreaks, guilt trips, mixed up baggage -- it gets to be too much sometimes.
But perfect isn't the goal (and is, by definition, unattainable). So instead, we just make it better the next time. And you can do that as soon as you want -- it's a matter of paying mindful attention to ourselves and getting into our relational maps, and then leveraging that experience and information to your benefit.
